The MC is different b/c he doesn't find ways to totally obliterate every unobliterable obstacle in his way (lookin' at you dungeon crawler carl) - instead of fighting the high level enemies (and somehow prevailing) he just goes around them.That being said there are some elements of OPness but way less then the usual.What I found most enjoyable was the solo aspect. This genre really lacks solid solo adventures, MCs usually end up with a party that they are willing to die for within ten minutes, and it becomes tiresome.All in all great read. Also I have nothing against DCC - thats entertaining for diff resons. As the title says, this novel is pretty good whenever the mc is solo. As soon as he gets any social contact whatsoever the story because terrible and the mcs decision making makes almost no sense at all. When mc is solo it’s a 7-8/10 easy, the skill leveling and combat are pretty good. It all goes down when the dude for some inexplicable reason wastes one of his limited, important, skill slots on a dumb af ability called stun slap.. like, the dude uses duel blades and he just wastes 1/4 abilities just for no reason at all. Then he gets ambushed by all the respawned noobs who he can just slaughter at any time he pleases and acts like a cowered. I’m not saying he should kill them all but come on just ignore them and move on. As soon as the mc meets people he becomes the stereotype ku protagonist of being a hero for absolutely no reason at all. Smh made me so disappointed in this novel that was pretty good.
